The A1740 uses the same Rioworks motherboard that we found in the Appro 1100H, but Einux actually took advantage of the on-board 4-port Serial ATA controller to handle all four hot-swappable drive bays. Our evaluation sample came with a 120GB Seagate Barracuda Serial ATA V drive, which happens to be the only Serial ATA drive on the market with any real availability.
The Serial ATA connector makes a hot-swappable drive configuration fairly simple to implement on the A1740; RAID functionality is offered through the controller's BIOS.
